Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to general questions we get asked
No, not at all. If you only want to do a single discipline, that’s fine. Do what you’re comfortable with.
There is no annual cost for membership and anyone can become a community member simply by joining the Facebook group here: Poulton Triathlon Club | Groups | Facebook. We do ask that if members want to have voting rights at our yearly AGM, be involved in club decision making and take advantage of our partner offers that they become a registered member by filling out the form at this link: https://forms.office.com/e/aXRETNrZLq. There is no charge for this but membership request is subject to approval by the committee.
The majority of training sessions that WyTri put on are free of charge to attend. The running and cycling sessions are organised as social runs and rides and therefore have no cost and any community member is welcome to join the sessions.
There is however a charge for swimming sessions. This session is hosted at YMCA Fleetwood and coached by our Head Coach, Dom Roe. There are two options for paying for swim access:
1. Pay the YMCA Fleetwood PAYG prices for public swimming on the door which is currently set at £6.50 for the session.
2. Subscribe monthly to the WyTri Fleetwood YMCA club membership which is £27 a month. With this membership you can access the tri club swim with no extra fees as well as using all facilities at the YMCA in Fleetwood. This includes all public swimming sessions, the gym and the public classes. Do note however that the club membership is only valid at YMCA Fleetwood and cannot be used at the other YMCA’s in the area.
We have no benchmarks, we pride ourselves on being non-elitest. Everyone at all levels of fitness is welcome to join and every other member will strive to help you on your jouney.
